Research Grants

Fraunhofer Portugal, through its research centers, strives to assume a knowledge transfer role and contribute to an increasingly skilled work-force in Portugal, by offering university students and researchers the opportunity to carry out practical advanced training at its labs, helping them develop a market-oriented approach to their applied research and the development of their skills in a “real-world” environment.

As such, Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS offers Research Grants to individuals with proven academic qualifications within the fields defined in its Research Areas.

Knowledge Transfer Management


The call for allocation of a Research Grant (BI) for the degree of Bachelor is open, granted under project MDevNet- “Rede Nacional de Transferência de Conhecimento de Dispositivos Médicos”.

Candidate Profile: Academic Bachelor Degree or equivalent academic qualifications in the area of Biomedical Engineering or other Physical or Medical Sciences. Previous working experience on EU or National funded projects using project management methodologies and bibliographical search. Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills and teamwork. Familiarity with the Medical Devices Industry and EU regulatory compliance will be an advantage.
