Job Description and Responsibilities:
Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS is looking for a researcher interested in Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models to join the Intelligent Systems Group.
The job offer is focused on the following tasks:
- Research and develop image and text processing methods for data structuring, exploring visual LLMs.
- Research and develop local versus cloud deployments of LLM solutions based on multimodal data.
- Research and develop methodologies related to Responsible AI, in particular, LLM results validation and robustness assessment.
- Implement Retrieval Augmented Generation techniques.
- Employ and develop best practices of professional data science and machine learning.
- Write comprehensive reports on approaches tested and results obtained.
- Share your knowledge with others by giving talks and preparing research proposals, project deliverables, and scientific papers.
Academic Qualifications:
Academic Bachelor's degree in science, Engineering or similar.
Requirements:
- Excellent Python programming skills.
- Background knowledge in Machine Learning, NLP and LLMs.
- Expertise in programming with widespread AI Frameworks (e.g., Sklearn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
- Excellent Portuguese and English communication skills (spoken and written).
